Jermain Colin Defoe (born in Beckton, London, October 7, 1982) Defoe was an English footballer who plays as a striker for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and the England national team. Defoe began his career at Charlton Athletic football academy at the age of 14 years, then joined the junior players West Ham United at the age of 16 years. He later played for West Ham first team in the 2001-2002 season. Defoe joined Tottenham in 2004. After four years there, he then joined Portsmouth for one season. Defoe rejoined Tottenham in January 2009. Defoe strengthen the England team since 2004, until September 2010.
